Monday was the day for technical alliances in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, apparently. Following the announcement that Jeremy Clements Racing had agreed to partner with Haas Factory Team for the 2026 season, another pair of teams announced their new technical alliance shortly after.

Viking Motorsports, which previously announced Parker Retzlaff as the driver of its No. 99 Chevrolet for the upcoming season, will officially enter an alliance with Richard Childress Racing, the team that recently scored the series championship with Jesse Love, and is one of the most potent programs in the series.

According to a press release from Viking Motorsports, the new partnership will allow Viking access to RCR’s support network, operational resources, and collaborative processes, which will help the upstart team continue to develop its raw speed.

“Forming this partnership with RCR represents another important step in our mission to continue improving and growing as a competitive team,” said Jeremy Lange, General Manager of Viking Motorsports. “Our foundation is built on hard work, teamwork, and determination — and with RCR’s engineering expertise and ECR engines supporting our program, we’re gaining the tools and knowledge to take the next step forward. This partnership truly embodies what it means to be Forged to Race.”

Additionally, Richard Childress Racing, which is housed in Welcome, North Carolina, is excited to bring Viking Motorsports into the fold.

“We’re proud to work with Viking Motorsports and help provide many of the same resources that have contributed to RCR’s long-term success in motorsports,” said Danny Lawrence, Vice President, Alliance Operations/Director, NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series Program for RCR. “Their commitment to excellence and relentless drive align perfectly with our philosophy. We look forward to seeing Viking Motorsports continue to grow stronger and more competitive each week.”

The Viking Motorsports team impressed flying on its own in 2025, as Matt DiBenedetto churned out consistent results for the program through the opening 30 races of last year. With the RCR alliance, the team should be able to take a major step forward in 2026 with Retzlaff behind the wheel of its race cars.
