Video: Sam Mayer, Anthony Alfredo Take Brunt of Five-Car Wreck

Sam Mayer and Anthony Alfredo have been knocked out of Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series event at Atlanta Motor Speedway, after a multi-car accident late in the Bennett Transportation and Logistics 250.

The incident started when Nick Sanchez made a three-wide move to the inside lane of Mayer, making contact with the No. 41 Audibel Ford Mustang, spinning the Haas Factory Team entry around.

Mayer spun down the racetrack into the path of Connor Zilisch, which bounced the white and green racecar up the track and into the path of Anthony Alfredo, who got shoved into the wreck.

Both Mayer and Alfredo sustained major damage and were forced to retire from Saturday’s second event of the season.

Connor Zilisch, Brennan Poole, and Nick Sanchez also got some minor damage in the incident but were able to continue.
