Video: Kyle Weatherman Stops Car, Exits And Walks on Track During Green Flag

Wow, luckily nothing bad happened in this one.

Kyle Weatherman experienced an issue with his No. 47 car with seven laps remaining in Saturday’s Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey 200 at Watkins Glen International. The driver of the No. 47 reported smelling burning carbon fiber for a couple of laps, then with seven laps left, he noticed a fire in the cockpit.

Weatherman brought his car to a stop on the track.

While the race was still under green flag conditions, Weatherman put the window net down and climbed from the car. Once Weatherman realized the race was still under green, he jumped over the guard rail before coming back to the car once the yellow flag was displayed to the field.

That was a little scary, but fortunately, no cars were in the vicinity of Weatherman.
