Three JR Motorsports cars, which were running near the front in Friday night’s Food City 300 at Bristol Motor Speedway, are done for the night after a massive crash on Lap 167.
While battling for the eighth position, Josh Berry made contact with his teammate Sam Mayer, which triggered the mayhem. Berry’s car, which was out of shape, then collected his other JR Motorsports teammate Brandon Jones, as he went head-first into the outside wall.

Behind the trio of drivers, Ryan Sieg also went for a spin, but he suffered minimal damage.
It appeared that Berry and Mayer made contact on the straightaway prior to the turn, and the contact could have possibly cut Berry’s tire to start the melee.
While Jones is not in the battle for the NASCAR Xfinity Series championship, Berry and Mayer are. As a result of the crash, Mayer and Berry have fallen outside of the Playoffs cutline as of the end of Stage 2.
As these three JRM cars crashed, their teammate Justin Allgaier won Stage 2 of the race, while team owner Dale Earnhardt Jr. also finished Stage 2 inside the top-five.
