Wake up, it’s Tyler Tomassi announcement season, folks. A day after the 21-year-old racer announced that he’ll compete in two NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series events for Reaume Brothers Racing this season, MBM Motorsports announced that the up-and-coming racer will pilot its No. 66 NASCAR Xfinity Series entry in two events this season as well.

Tomassi will make his series debut at Martinsville Speedway driving the No. 66 Ford Mustang Dark Horse in March, and will also compete for MBM Motorsports at Bristol Motor Speedway the following month.

“I’m honored to be making my Xfinity Series debut with MBM,” Tomassi, who made two NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series starts in 2024 said. “Getting here has taken a lot of hard work and support from so many people. I want to give a huge thank you to Carl Long and the team at MBM Motorsports for giving me this incredible opportunity.

“I’m beyond grateful to my team and everyone who’s supported me along the way. This is a big step in my career, and I’m ready to give it everything I’ve got. I can’t wait to get on the track and make the most of this opportunity.”

While the partnership with MBM Motorsports is currently set for a two-race deal, MBM Motorsports team owner Carl Long is hopeful that Tomassi could blossom into a larger schedule with the team.

“MBM is where a lot of young drivers get their start. I am looking forward to putting Tyler behind the wheel to begin his Xfinity Series career. If all goes well, this should develop into even more races,” Long said. “Who knows, Tyler may have a shot at his first Cup Series start here in the next few years.”

Sponsorship for Tomassi’s two-race stint with MBM Motorsports will be announced at a later time.

MBM Motorsports, which swapped to the No. 13 in the second half of the 2024 season, will return to its flagship No. 66 in the NASCAR Xfinity Series this season.
