Viking Motorsports, a first-year team in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, is partnering with the Pocono Mountain Visitors Bureau (PMVB) for Saturday’s Explore the Pocono Mountains 250 at Pocono Raceway.
The company’s blue and green colors will adorn the No. 99 Chevrolet in Saturday’s event at the 2.5-mile triangle-shaped racetrack, with NASCAR National Series veteran Matt DiBenedetto behind the wheel.
“We’re really excited to team up with the Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau for their home race,” said Jeremy Lange, General Manager of Viking Motorsports. “It’s a great fit — the PMVB is all about highlighting what makes the region special, and putting the No. 99 Pocono Mountains Chevrolet out there on a national stage is a fun way to do that. We’re proud to help share the Pocono Mountains with race fans across the country.”
The PMVB will be capturing exclusive behind-the-scenes content for its Pocono Television Network (PTN) and social media platforms, which will provide fans with a look at the team’s preparation and race-day energy.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled to align with Viking Motorsports and Matt DiBenedetto,” said Chris Barrett, President and CEO of Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau. “Matt’s connection with fans is second to none, and the opportunity to bring our brand to life on the No. 99 car — during a race we’re also sponsoring — is something truly special for our region and visitors.”
Entering Pocono, Matt DiBenedetto and Viking Motorsports currently sit 22nd in NASCAR Xfinity Series point standings, on the strength of a single top-five finish at Talladega Superspeedway earlier this season.
“Huge thanks to the PMVB for coming on board with Viking Motorsports and helping us show off everything that makes this place awesome,” said DiBenedetto. “I’ve always loved racing at Pocono — it’s such a wild track, and the fans are some of the best out there. Can’t wait to strap into the No. 99 Pocono Mountains Chevy and put on a show.”
The Explore the Pocono Mountains 250 at Pocono Raceway will take place on Saturday, June 21. Coverage of the event will be live on The CW at 3:30 PM ET, with radio coverage on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio and MRN.
