After competing in the first two seasons of the Camping World SRX Series – and winning the 2022 SRX championship – Marco Andretti is ready to tackle another new experience in his motorsports career.

The long-time driver in the NTT IndyCar Series will make his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut later this season with Big Machine Racing, competing in the October 8 event at Charlotte Motor Speedway’s ROVAL.

Marco, a member of the famous Andretti family, has narrowed down his schedule in the NTT IndyCar Series over the last couple of seasons to pursue new opportunities inside and outside racing.

The announcement took place Sunday in Nashville, as both Andretti and Borchetta are in the city for this weekend’s NTT IndyCar Series and TransAm TA2 events on the streets of Nashville, Tennessee.

Andretti’s debut in the NASCAR Xfinity Series doesn’t come as a total shock, with the 35-year-old saying over the last two seasons that he was hoping to put something together for a part-time slate in NASCAR.

At this time, Big Machine Racing has yet to release specifics on the agreement, but it is assumed that Andretti will be behind the wheel of the organization’s No. 48 Chevrolet Camaro.

Big Machine Racing has one career victory in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, coming earlier this season at Texas Motor Speedway, as two-time series champion Tyler Reddick was driving the team’s Chevrolet Camaro.
