This weekend at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, ‘The Double’ takes on a different meaning for Kyle Larson.

The 32-year-old racer will be adding another contest to his already jam-packed racing schedule, competing in Saturday’s Pennzoil 250 for the NASCAR Xfinity Series. Larson will get behind the wheel of the No. 17 HendrickCars.com Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports.

Saturday will mark the third time in 2025 that Larson has driven the Hendrick Motorsports Xfinity Series entry, dominating at Bristol Motor Speedway and recording a top-five at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Earlier this season, Larson also went to Victory Lane at Texas Motor Speedway, while filling in for an injured Connor Zilisch.

The Elk Grove, California-native is the defending winner of the Brickyard 400, and during the last two seasons has done some extracurricular competing at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, running the 2024 and 2025 Indianapolis 500 for Arrow McLaren, where he finished 18th and 24th, respectively.

In four NASCAR Xfinity Series starts at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Larson has recorded one top-five finish (a fourth in 2016), as well as three top-10s, and no result worse than 11th, which came in his rookie season with Turner Scott Motorsports.

It’s the third time in the last six weeks that Hendrick Motorsports has made a late addition to its NASCAR Xfinity Series schedule, with Chase Elliott being added at Pocono, series debutant Jake Finch being added for last weekend’s event at Dover, and now Larson being added at Indianapolis.

Throughout the opening 20 events of 2025, Hendrick Motorsports has entered the No. 17 Chevrolet in 12 NASCAR Xfinity Series events, with six different drivers. The entry has collected two victories at Bristol (Kyle Larson) and Charlotte (William Byron), along with seven top-fives and seven top-10s.

Following Saturday’s Xfinity Series event at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Hendrick Motorsports is scheduled to enter six more events with development driver Corey Day, starting at Iowa Speedway (August 2) and continuing at Bristol (September 12), Charlotte ROVAL (October 4), Las Vegas (October 11), Martinsville (October 25), and the season-finale at Phoenix (November 1).

The Pennzoil 250 will take place on Saturday, July 26 at 4:30 pm ET on The CW, IMS Radio, and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Channel 90.
