Dylan Lupton will return to NASCAR Xfinity Series competition after more than a year away, joining AM Racing to contest the final six events of the season in the No. 15 Ford Mustang Dark Horse.

The Wilton, California native will make his season debut in Saturday’s United Rentals 250 at Talladega Superspeedway, before also competing at the Charlotte ROVAL, Las Vegas, Homestead, Martinsville, and the season-finale at Phoenix.

Lupton has spent the majority of the season competing in select Late Model events on the West Coast and a limited schedule in the Trans Am Series XGT Class. The 30-year-old ran his first stock car event earlier this season at Watkins Glen, driving the No. 30 for Rette Jones Racing in the ARCA Menards Series, finishing 10th.

“I’m excited to join AM Racing for the remainder of the 2024 season,” said Lupton. “We have been talking about the opportunity of working together since last year, and I’m happy to jump in the No. 15 Ford Mustang and get to work for the remaining six races this season. Without question, AM Racing has shown speed in its race cars. I’m hoping to bring some experience to the table while building consistency and producing solid race finishes that will give both of us some good momentum for the offseason.”

Lupton has made 60 starts across NASCAR’s National Series, including four starts in the NASCAR Cup Series in 2016. His most recent start came with Alpha Prime Racing in road course events at Portland and Sonoma in the Summer of 2023.

“AM Racing is proud to welcome Dylan to the family,” said AM Racing team owner Kevin Cywinski. “I’ve known Dylan for several years now, and I know his commitment to racing when he gets the opportunity to be behind the wheel. I believe he can take advantage of six straight races and continue to showcase his ability and deliver AM Racing some solid finishes to close out the 2024 Xfinity Series season.”

The two-time ARCA Menards Series West winner will make just his second Xfinity Series start at Talladega on Saturday, but has also competed in events at the 2.66-mile superspeedway in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.

Lupton running the final six events of the year puts an end to the race-to-race filling of schedules for the No. 15, which has had Lawless Alan, Josh Berry, Joey Logano, Logan Bearden, and Gus Dean all take turns since Hailie Deegan parted ways with the organization.
