Daniel Dye, who has impressed mightily during his NASCAR Xfinity Series Rookie of the Year campaign, will be without his crew chief, Kevin Walter, when the Series returns to Charlotte Motor Speedway in a couple of weeks.
Walter was tabbed with a one-race suspension after the No. 10 Kaulig Racing Chevrolet was discovered to have two lug nuts unsecured in post-race inspection following last Saturday’s Andy’s Frozen Custard 300 at Texas Motor Speedway.
Additionally, the No. 10 Kaulig Racing team has been fined $10,000 for the infraction.
The suspension of Walter and a fine for Kaulig Racing were the only penalties contained in the weekly NASCAR Penalty Report this week, which was distributed after 5:00 PM ET on Tuesday evening.
Prior to the suspension of Walter, it had been relatively smooth sailing for Dye and the No. 10 team this season. Aside from a DNF in the season-opening event at Daytona International Speedway, Dye has finished inside the top 20 in every race this season. Dye, who sits 13th in the championship standings, has five top 10 finishes and eight top 15s through the opening 12 races of the season.
The NASCAR Xfinity Series, which has contested races in each of the opening 12 weekends of the 2025 NASCAR National Series season, is currently observing a two-week break.
