It took until 28 to go to have “The Big One” in the ARCA Menards Series at Talladega, which collected a large chunk of the back half of the field.

The accident started when Toni Breidinger got turned around in the tri-oval for the second time in two days, this time by Richard Garvie – driving for Andy Hillenburg’s Fast Track Racing.

Involved in the accident were: Brayton Laster, Richard Garvie, Toni Breidinger, Eric Caudell, and Scott Melton, amongst others.

Melton took a hard hit in the tail-end of the accident, slamming into the passenger side door of Eric Caudell’s No. 7 Ford Fusion. Melton was put on a stretcher and was alert and communicating with safety workers as he was placed into the ambulance.

Additional updates on the condition of Scott Melton will be provided as it becomes available.
