Video: Kyle Larson Breaks I-55 Raceway Track Record in World of Outlaws Sprint Car

Kyle Larson continues to keep his head down and work on rebuilding his reputation and image as a race car driver after uttering a racial slur during an iRacing event back in April.

A couple of weeks ago, Larson finished 10th in his first live-action race since losing the majority of his sponsors and being fired from Chip Ganassi Racing in a World of Outlaws Invitational event at Knoxville.

Kyle Larson Finishes 10th in World of Outlaws Race, First Race Since NASCAR Firing

On Friday, Larson was back behind the wheel of his winged sprint car in the World of Outlaws, and he set a new track record as he paced the track in just 9.995 seconds in qualifying at I-55 Raceway in Missouri.

Here is video of Larson’s qualifying run, which features extreme excitement from the commentator.

After his record-breaking lap, Larson would go on to finish runner-up in the main. Brad Sweet would win the event.

Larson continues to show that sponsors or no sponsors, he still has the talent to potentially someday make it back to the top of the racing ladder.
