In his 208th NASCAR National Series start, Daniel Hemric is not only a winner in the NASCAR Xfinity Series but is also the 2021 NASCAR Xfinity Series champion, using his front bumper to nudge Austin Cindric’s No. 22 Ford Mustang up out of the groove and scoot by the defending series champion, narrowly beating the Cup-bound driver to the start-finish line by 0.030 seconds.
The final two laps of the event were insane, with Hemric and Cindric both pushing the limits of what is allowed on the restart, and eventually coming together in turn three, sending both drivers up the track. However, on the final lap of the race, Hemric was within striking distance in turn three, and sent his Poppy Bank Toyota into the final corner with the intent of exiting a winner, and champion.

He didn’t wreck him but was just able to give him enough of a bump to beat him to the start-finish line, serving as an epic conclusion to what has been considered one of the NASCAR Xfinity Series’ best seasons of racing in recent memory.
