Sheldon Creed and Chandler Smith, two of the eight NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Playoff contenders were swept up in a hard and fiery five-truck crash on Friday night.

On lap 70, of the Victoria’s Voice 200 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Tyler Ankrum lost control of his truck to start the chaos. Smith made a mistake by choosing to go high, which swept him up into the crash. Creed chose to go low, which sent him hard into Smith.

Here is video of the wild accident:

Smith stated after walking out of the infield care center, that his involvement in the accident was a result of a bad gut choice.

“Yeah, I’m all good. Tyler [Ankrum] got loose up at the top. I saw him completely sideways. Some tracks like this, I’ve had a similar experience where people are spinning out against the wall, come back across the track and take out a good portion of the field with them. Spotter told me to go low. I should have listened to him,” Smith said with dejection.

It’s been a bad night to be a driver in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Playoffs, as a pair of drivers still eligible for the championship have been involved in a scary and fiery accident in the third stage at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Meanwhile John Hunter Nemechek and Zane Smith have also had issues.

But even with their issues, they are nowhere as severe as the Creed and Smith crash at Vegas.
