On Wednesday, NASCAR released its weekly penalty report following this past weekend’s racing activities at Daytona International Speedway. There was only one listed penalty, an indefinite suspension, for NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series team owner and driver Cory Roper.

According to the report, Roper was found to be in violation of section(s) 4.1 and 10.1.A of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series rule book, which pertains to a behavioral infraction. More specifically, Roper’s infraction pertains to the sanctioning body’s Substance Abuse Policy (SAP).

The substance that Roper tested positive for was not disclosed, and typically isn’t disclosed by NASCAR.

Roper, 45, has competed in 45 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race throughout the course of his career behind the wheel. Roper has scored one top-five finish, a third-place finish at Daytona International Speedway in February 2021, and three top-10 finishes.

Roper’s team, Roper Racing attempted to qualify into the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series 2023 season-opening event at Daytona International Speedway this past weekend, however the No. 04 truck did not make the show.
