Thomas Annunziata, a skilled road racer, will get the best opportunity of his young NASCAR National Series career as he’ll slide behind the wheel of the No. 07 Chevrolet Silverado for Spire Motorsports this weekend in the inaugural NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event at Lime Rock Park on Saturday, June 28.
TOP LINER will serve as the primary sponsorship partner for the 20-year-old as he makes his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series debut.
Claudio Burtin, who is the owner of TOP LINER and is the Team Principal at Burtin Racing, is elated to once again partner with Annunziata, who competed well for his team in the Trans-Am ranks previously.
“Thomas drove for us in the Trans Am car and was on pace immediately,” said Claudio Burtin, Owner at TOP LINER and Team Principal at Burtin Racing. “He showed some unique car control. We look forward to mixing it up with the truck regulars and more to come!”
Annunziata, a New Jersey native, has been mixing it up in competitive road course racing events for nearly half of his life, and he feels like he is prepared for this moment to showcase his talents in an entry for a NASCAR Cup Series organization in the Truck Series ranks.
“It’s a dream to race for a top team in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series for my debut race,” said Annunziata. “Spire Motorsports is one of the elite teams, and I hope to get them another win.”
Prior to making the move into the stock car world, Annunziata was a three-time national karting champion, who moved to sports car racing in 2022. The phenom scored championships in the SCCA Spec Miata and Mazda Motorsports Spec MX5 Challenge, and he also secured a $75,000 Mazda MX5 Cup Shootout scholarship.
Annunziata would go on to impress in the Trans-Am TA2 division and would begin transitioning to stock cars in 2024.
The young racer scored two top-five finishes and three top-10s across four ARCA Menards Series starts a season ago, including a runner-up finish at Daytona International Speedway. He also racked up finishes of fourth at Mid-Ohio and seventh at Watkins Glen International, a pair of road course tracks. In his four ARCA starts, Annunziata’s worst finish was a 12th-place effort at Talladega Superspeedway.
Annunziata has also made 11 starts in the NASCAR Xfinity Series over the last two seasons with a variety of race teams. This season, he’s been sharing the No. 70 Cope Family Racing Chevrolet with Leland Honeyman in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. Through his opening six starts of the 2025 campaign, Annunziata has had a lot of bad luck from a mechanical standpoint, but has recorded a best finish of 20th, which came at Nashville Superspeedway.
The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series LiUNA! 150 at Lime Rock Park will take place on Saturday, June 28, and the race will be televised on FOX with coverage set to kick off at 1 PM ET. The NASCAR Radio Network and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio will provide the radio broadcast of the event.
