Initially, when the weekly NASCAR Entry Lists dropped on Monday afternoon, there were 37 trucks on the entry list for Friday’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Zip Buy Now, Pay Later 200 at Martinsville Speedway.

With only 36 trucks being permitted to make the starting field each weekend in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, that meant one truck would go home following this week’s qualifying session. However, on Tuesday, Reaume Brothers Racing officially withdrew its No. 27 entry, which was slated to be driven by team owner Josh Reaume.

With Reaume choosing to withdraw his entry, this will make life a lot easier for a lot of drivers and teams this weekend, as they won’t have to worry about missing the field. Among those breathing a sigh of relief are Timmy Hill and the No. 56 Hill Motorsports team, Johnny Sauter and the No. 16 Hattori Racing Enterprises team as well as Norm Benning and the No. 6 Norm Benning Racing team.

While Hill has been a full-time competitor this season, and his team ranks 25th in the owner standings, the driver and team saw firsthand how heartbreaking qualifying can be in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series as Hill narrowly missed the field for the Loves RV Stops 225 at Talladega Superspeedway a couple of races ago.

He’ll be glad to know there is no chance of him missing this race.

Like the No. 27 Reaume Brothers Racing entry, the No. 16 and No. 6 trucks are very low on the NASCAR Truck Series owner point totem pole. Hattori’s No. 16 truck sits 43rd in the owner standings, while Benning’s team is 44th.

Benning, who made the race at Talladega Superspeedway a couple of races ago, leading to Hill’s heartbreak, and scored a 21st-place finish, DNQed at The Milwaukee Mile earlier this year. The No. 16 Hattori truck was kept out of the starting lineup at North Wilkesboro Speedway when qualifying was washed out earlier this year.

No teams on the entry list will have to worry about that type of drama this weekend with the No. 27 truck pulling out of the field.
