It will be a rough start to Saturday night’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Heart of America 200 for Nick Sanchez and the No. 2 Rev Racing team. The No. 2 Chevrolet Silverado failed pre-race inspection three times on Saturday morning, which resulted in NASCAR not allowing the driver and team to take a qualifying lap on Saturday.

This will result in Sanchez starting from the rear of the field, and Sanchez will also lose his pit selection next weekend at Darlington Raceway.

While it’s an unideal start to the weekend for the 22-year-old racer, Sanchez is firmly secured in the 2024 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Playoffs field thanks to his victory in the season-opening event at Daytona International Speedway.

It was a rough trip through the inspection bay for every team except for the No. 88 ThorSport Racing truck, which is driven by Matt Crafton. Every other truck in the field failed inspection at least once.

In addition to Sanchez, seven trucks failed inspection a second time, and will lose their pit stall selection for Darlington Raceway, but as they all passed on their third attempt, they will be permitted to qualify on Saturday at Kansas Speedway.

The teams that failed twice included the No. 19 McAnally-Hilgemann Racing team (Christian Eckes), 25 Rackley WAR team (Ty Dillon), 33 Reaume Brothers Racing team (Lawless Alan), 66 ThorSport Racing team (Cam Waters), 71 Spire Motorsports team (Rajah Caruth), 76 Freedom Racing Enterprises team (Spencer Boyd), and the 77 Spire Motorsports team (Chase Purdy).
