After a leaked image circulated on social media in February, Kyle Busch Motorsports has officially confirmed that NASCAR Cup Series Champion Martin Truex Jr. will join the Pinty’s Truck Race on Dirt at Bristol on March 27th.
Auto-Owners Insurance, a longtime partner of Truex dating back to his Furniture Row Racing days, will serve as the primary sponsor for the effort. Truex joins Chase Briscoe, Kyle Larson, Kevin Harvick, and Ryan Preece as just a few Cup drivers going dirt racing in the Camping World Truck Series later this month.
“We know that Martin has wanted to compete in another truck series race for almost 15 years and we are thrilled to support him in this opportunity,” said Auto-Owners Insurance Senior Vice President, Marketing and Sales Mary Pierce.

“This is something Kyle (Busch) and I have talked about over the last few years and I’m excited that we were finally able to make it happen,” Truex Jr. said. “I’m really thankful for Auto-Owners Insurance coming on board for what is going to be a big weekend for our sport racing on dirt at Bristol for the first time. Also, I want to thank Noble Aerospace and Cessna for their support.”
This will mark Truex Jr.’s first Truck Series start since 2006 when he drove for Billy Ballew Motorsports at Michigan. With just two starts in Trucks in his entire career, Truex could join an elite company as a driver who has won at least one race in the Cup Series, Xfinity Series, and Truck Series. Only 35 drivers in NASCAR’s history have completed the trifecta including fellow Joe Gibbs Racing driver Kyle Busch.
