Jennifer Jo Cobb and the No. 10 Jennifer Jo Cobb Racing team have thrown their names into the hat and will attack the high banks of Daytona International Speedway as a last-minute entry for the NASCAR Truck Series season-opener has come to fruition.

Cobb confirmed to TobyChristie.com that she will compete at Daytona in hopes of locking into the 36-truck field. Cobb also shared a photo of her No. 10 Chevrolet Silverado on Friday afternoon on social media.

The 50-year-old racer says that the final details of her entry are still coming together and that sponsorship partners and the truck chief for the effort will be revealed soon.

“Seriously still trying to figure it out,” Cobb explained.

While details are still being ironed out a week away from the race, Cobb will mark the 38th confirmed entry for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Daytona International Speedway.

The native of Kansas City, KS has competed in 232 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series races throughout her career, including one race in two attempts a season ago.

Cobb started the 19th race of the 2023 season, which was at her home track — Kansas Speedway. In that race, Cobb started 30th and came home in 34th. Cobb would DNQ a couple of races later at Talladega Superspeedway.

The driver has been a trailblazer for female racers in NASCAR as she scored a sixth-place finish at Daytona International Speedway in the 2011 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season-opener. At the time, that was the highest finishing position for a female racer in the history of the Truck Series.

Cobb’s record stood for nine years until Natalie Decker surpassed the mark with a fifth-place finish at Daytona in February 2020.

The driver of the No. 10 Chevrolet Silverado will look to lock herself into the field for the 2024 season-opening race, and if she can have a little luck on her side, perhaps she can contend for a second-career top-10 finish.
