Having already collected a pair of victories on the season at Daytona International Speedway and Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Corey Heim remains a step above the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series field.

The Marietta, Georgia-native captured the pole for Friday’s Baptist Health 200 at Homestead-Miami Speedway, posting a lap time of 32.111 seconds (168.167mph) to secure the pole for Friday’s 134-lap contest.

It’s the first pole of the season for the 23XI Racing development driver, and the eighth of his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series career — the most recent of which came last October at this same racetrack.

The 22-year-old driver outran his TRICON Garage teammate, Tanner Gray, to secure the top qualifying spot. Gray, driving the No. 15 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro, comes off a third-place finish last weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

NASCAR Cup Series driver Kyle Larson, who will run triple-duty this weekend at Homestead-Miami, qualified in third place, driving the fourth entry for Spire Motorsports, the No. 07, sponsored by HendrickCars.com.

Larson is the highest qualifying of the three Spire Motorsports drivers that will be carrying primary sponsorship from HendrickCars.com, with Rajah Caruth qualifying in 12th, and Corey Day in 16th.

Layne Riggs qualified fourth-place in the No. 34 Ford F-150 for Front Row Motorsports, while Rookie of The Year leader Gio Ruggiero rounded out the top-five, in another entry for TRICON Garage.

Tyler Ankrum, Ross Chastain, Grant Enfinger, Stewart Friesen, and defending NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series champion Ty Majeski rounded out the top-10 in Friday’s single-vehicle qualifying session.

Brandon Jones, making his first NASCAR Truck Series start of the season for TRICON Garage, will start 11th, after showing immense speed during the series’ 25-minute practice session.

Other notables include Kaden Honeycutt (13th), Daniel Hemric (14th), Chandler Smith (15th), Connor Mosack (19th), Matt Crafton (23rd), Ben Rhodes (24th), and Jack Wood (26th). Wood, who will start 26th in the No. 91 McAnally-Hilgemann Racing Chevrolet, was quickest in practice at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

The Baptist Health 200 will take place on Friday, March 21 at 8:00 PM ET with coverage on FOX, NASCAR Racing Network, and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Channel 90.
