With inclement weather cancelling qualifying for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series at North Wilkesboro, a 45-minute practice session was all the pre-race on-track time the field got.

Chandler Smith, driver of the No. 38 QuickTie Ford F-150 for Front Row Motorsports, paced the session with a lap time of 18.439 seconds (122.023mph).

Smith, who has never competed in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series at North Wilkesboro, made 53 laps around the historic 0.620-mile short track.

The Talking Rock, Georgia-native was followed closely by a fellow Georgian in the session, Corey Heim, a three-time winner in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series this season.

Heim, as a result of NASCAR’s Performance Metric, will be leading the NASCAR Truck Series field to green this afternoon, driving the No. 11 Mobil 1 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro for TRICON Garage.

Layne Riggs, the teammate of session-leader Chandler Smith, was third-quickest, with fellow short-track aces Ty Majeski and Kaden Honeycutt completing the top-five on the speed charts in Saturday’s practice session.

Grant Enfinger was sixth-quickest, while NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series debutant Brent Crews managed to end up seventh-fastest in the No. 1 JBL Toyota Tundra TRD Pro.

Luke Baldwin, Stewart Friesen, and Ben Rhodes completed the top-10.

PRACTICE RESULTS: 2025 NCTS Window World 250

Two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch is entered in Saturday’s 250-lapper from North Wilkesboro and will start from the runner-up position, but he only mustered a 21st-place position in practice.

There were no real issues during the practice session, with only slight contact between Matt Crafton and Frankie Muniz causing slight damage to the No. 33 Reaume Brothers Racing Ford F-150.

Corey Heim was the quickest driver in the 10-lap average, over Kaden Honeycutt, Ben Rhodes, Chandler Smith, and Brent Crews.

Derek White, making his first NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series start since 2014, was the slowest of the 34 trucks on the racetrack, running a 20-second lap time, pacing 1.6 seconds lower than session-leader Smith.

The Window World 250 at North Wilkesboro Speedway will take place on Saturday, May 17 at 1:30 PM ET on FOX Sports 1, NASCAR Racing Network, and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Channel 90.
