“I am genuinely excited to be heading back over to the USA to race at Lime Rock Park with the ThorSport operation,” said Waters. “They are a truly great team with an incredibly successful racing background in the NASCAR Truck Series, and I had a heap of fun with them last year in the two races I contested.”
A two-time runner-up in the Repco Supercars Championship, Waters made his first foray into NASCAR’s National Series last season, contesting a pair of NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series events with ThorSport Racing (Martinsville and Kansas) before making his NASCAR Cup Series debut at Sonoma with RFK Racing.
In his two starts in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, Waters collected finishes of 30th (Martinsville) and 19th (Kansas).
Now, in the first road course event of the season, Waters will be chasing his first checkered flag in NASCAR, and what would be the first win of the season for ThorSport Racing in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.
“Lime Rock is a fast and flowing road course, which I feel I’ll be very well-suited to, and I can’t wait to hit the track in my No. 66 Ford F-150,” Waters added. “I want to thank everyone at ThorSport – Duke, Rhonda, and Allison Thorson. I’m grateful for Ford Performance and everyone else who helped make this happen. Make no mistake, I’m going after the win.”
Wates joins a list of drivers to pilot the No. 66 Ford F-150 in 2025 that includes former series champion Johnny Sauter, as well as up-and-comers Luke Fenhaus and Luke Baldwin. Last time out at Michigan, the entry earned its first top-five of the season, finishing third with Fenhaus after winning the pole.
The Liuna! 150 — the inaugural NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event at Lime Rock Park — will take place on Saturday, June 28 at 1:00 PM ET on FOX, NASCAR Radio Network, and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Channel 90.
