I know, Brett Moffitt has yet to win a race in the 2020 NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series and he is coming off of a disappointing 15th-place finish at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. However, Moffitt heads into this weekend’s Chevrolet Silverado 250 at Talladega Superspeedway in a league of his own when it comes to a certain stat line.

According to TobyChristie.com’s statistician Joseph Srigley, the 28-year old driver has been inside the top-15 in every lap over the past five races in NGROTS competition and he also was inside the top-15 for all but three laps in the event at Dover International Speedway, six races ago. Had it not been for short pitting at lap 162, Moffitt would be sitting on a six-race streak.

Regardless, that equates to 931 consecutive laps inside the top-15 for Moffitt and he has been inside the top-15 for 1,093 of the last 1,096 laps in NGROTS competition.

To put Moffitt’s incredible streak in perspective, the second-highest active laps in the top-15 streak in the Truck Series is one race. Sheldon Creed and Todd Gilliland were the only other drivers in Friday’s World of Westgate 200 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway to complete every lap inside the top-15.

A week before Las Vegas, at Bristol, only Matt Crafton joined Moffitt as drivers who completed every lap inside the top-15 on the night.

When you start looking at each race’s report, you start to see that Moffitt stands above the rest in the series at keeping his truck inside the top-15 each and every week.

While he ultimately had a disappointing 15th-place finish at Las Vegas, Moffitt has honestly been looking on the verge of a victory as of late. Moffitt has scored four runner-up finishes in his last 10 starts, and he has added a third-place effort at Dover and a fourth-place finish at Richmond over that span.

If Moffitt, who is inside the NGROTS Playoffs, doesn’t score a victory in the 2020 season, it’ll be extremely shocking.
