It looked like Ross Chastain had been out-dueled for the Stage 2 win by Justin Allgaier in Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series Virginia is for Racing Lovers 250 at Richmond Raceway, but a caution with 11 laps left in the Stage changed everything.

Chastain led a group of 11 lead-lap cars that would pit for fresh tires, while Allgaier stayed on track with seven other lead-lap cars.

When the green flag came back out, Chastain gobbled up the older tire cars and passed Allgaier for the lead with four laps left in the Stage.

It wouldn’t be smooth sailing for the Stage 2 win though as Chastain had to hold off Kaulig Racing teammate Justin Haley and Jeb Burton for the Stage win.

This marks Chastain’s second Stage Win of 2020.

Closely behind the trio of Chastain, Haley and Jeb Burton was Chase Briscoe in fourth and Harrison Burton finished fifth.

Austin Cindric, Riley Herbst, Allgaier, Noah Gragson and Kaz Grala rounded out the top-10 finishers in Stage 2.

It’s been a clean race so far, as the only caution for an incident came in this Stage when Colby Howard smacked the wall to bring out the caution that changed the outcome of Stage 2.
