Tyler Reddick cruised to the pole for Saturday’s NASCAR Racing Experience 300 at Daytona International Speedway, but he will not start the race from the front of the field.

No, Reddick’s car didn’t fail inspection or anything, but he had a tire going down as he was about to attempt his qualifying run. The team determined the leak wasn’t bad enough to scrap their run for the pole, but it is bad enough that they will have to change tires on the No. 2 Camaro SS before the race.

As a result, Reddick will drop to the rear of the field. He will have the benefit of first pit stall choice by virtue of winning the pole.
