Matt DiBenedetto, who has piloted the No. 99 Viking Motorsports Chevrolet throughout the 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series season, will not get a chance to close the year out. On Monday morning, the organization announced that Connor Mosack will pilot its race car for the final three races of the season, beginning with Saturday’s event at Talladega Superspeedway.

“We’d like to thank Matt (DiBenedetto) for his contributions throughout our inaugural season,” said Jeremy Lange, General Manager of Viking Motorsports, in a statement.  “He played a meaningful role in establishing the foundation of this team, and we wish him the best.”

While Mosack will slide behind the wheel for the final three races of the 2025 season, Viking Motorsports says the driver lineup and additional details for the program in 2026 will be announced at a later date.

Through the opening 30 races of the season, DiBenedetto ranked 22nd in the NASCAR Xfinity Series championship standings, and the driver had a best finish of fifth this season, which ironically came at Talladega Superspeedway.

Mosack, 26, has one top-five finish, which was a fifth-place result at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval, in three NASCAR Xfinity Series starts this year. In addition to his part-time NASCAR Xfinity Series schedule, Mosack has piloted the No. 81 Chevrolet Silverado for McAnally-Hilgemann Racing full-time this year.

Mosack sits 14th in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series championship standings and has four top-10 finishes through 22 races.
