Video: Late-Race Stackup Triggers Nine-Car Wreck at Rockingham

The battle for the victory in Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series event at Rockingham Speedway has taken a major turn in a matter of seconds.

After Ryan Sieg’s No. 39 RSS Racing Ford Mustang Dark Horse sputtered under caution, and lost the race lead, the restart that followed left chaos to ensue with further fuel mileage issues.

Christian Eckes, restarting on the outside of the second row, had issues on the take-off with the fuel pickup in his No. 16 Black’s Tire Chevrolet, causing a chain reaction accident that involved nine cars.

Justin Allgaier, Brandon Jones, Ryan Sieg, Carson Kvapil, Nick Sanchez, Austin Green, Jeremy Clements, and Thomas Annunziata all got a piece of the incident, as did Eckes.

For the majority of drivers, the damage was minor, but for Sanchez and Green, the afternoon came to an early end.
