Joe Williams, a veteran crew chief in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, is set to join Alpha Prime Racing for the 2025 season, the organization confirmed on Friday.

Williams will be serving as the shot-caller for the No. 4 Chevrolet Camaro in the second-tier series, an entry that will be driven by Parker Retzlaff.

The former NASCAR Cup Series crew chief joins Alpha Prime Racing after a season that saw him make a mid-season move, after being released from his spot as crew chief for Hailie Deegan and AM Racing in May.

Williams then jumped to RSS Racing for the final 20 events of the season, serving as the shot-caller for the No. 28 Ford Mustang Dark Horse, driven by Kyle Sieg.

Entering the 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series campaign, Williams has recorded 163 starts in the second-tier series, with a single victory coming at Auto Club Speedway with Cole Custer and SS-GreenLight Racing.

In his first season partnered with AM Racing, Williams helped get the brand-new organization off the ground, and led Brett Moffitt to a season that included one top-five and nine top-10s.

Retzlaff, the driver that Williams will be engrained with throughout the season, is considered to be a strong rising star in the second-tier series, after spending two seasons with mid-level team Jordan Anderson Racing.

In 75 starts in the Xfinity Series, Retzlaff has scored three top-five finishes and 12 top-10s, as well as two pole positions on short tracks (Richmond and Martinsville).
