NASCAR Xfinity Series Championship 4 contender Tyler Reddick started from the pole in Saturday’s Ford EcoBoost 300 at Homestead-Miami Speedway, and led the opening 33 laps of Stage 1.

However, when a caution came out for debris wedged inside the turn 4 wall, Reddick, Cole Custer, Chase Briscoe and a few others came to pit road. This put Reddick back in 19th with just nine laps to go.

Reddick wasted no time knifing his way back to the front of the field, but as he was battling for the lead, Briscoe went around and took the Stage 1 win.

Custer actually ended up second, which makes him the highest-placed Championship 4 driver in the opening Stage. Reddick was fourth, Christopher Bell ended up 12th and Justin Algaier was 13th.

Bell and Allgaier, by staying out under the late yellow, have an extra set of tires for later in the race than Custer and Reddick.

Justin Haley ended the Stage in third, while John Hunter Nemechek ended a great opening portion of the race by finishing fifth.

Brandon Jones, Jeb Burton, Jeremy Clements, Austin Cindric and Josh Williams rounded out the top-10 drivers in Stage 1.
