Carson Ware, the youngest son of NASCAR Cup Series team owner Rick Ware, is set to attempt the NASCAR Xfinity Series season-opener at Daytona International Speedway.

The 24-year-old driver will be joining forces with Mike Harmon Racing to pilot the No. 74 Chevrolet, as the organization attempts to solidify itself a spot in the NASCAR Xfinity Series season-opener.

Save22, a long-time partner of Mike Harmon Racing, will serve as the primary sponsor of Ware’s No. 74.

“Excited and thankful that Mike Harmon is giving me the ability to be at the first race of the year in a firesuit and make an attempt at Daytona,” said Carson Ware. “Our No. 74 guys have been working very hard at the shop to get to the track and it won’t be from a lack of effort.”

Since making his debut in NASCAR’s second-tier division in 2020, Ware has amassed 12 career starts, driving for a variety of organizations including SS-GreenLight Racing, Rick Ware Racing, Jimmy Means Racing, and Joey Gase Motorsports.

The Jamestown, North Carolina-native collected a career-best 20th-place result in his third career start, driving the No. 07 Chevrolet for SS-GreenLight Racing at Pocono.

In addition to starts in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, Ware has also made a single appearance in both the ARCA Menards Series and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, both of which came in 2019.

With 41 drivers entered for the United Rentals 300 at Daytona International Speedway, Ware will likely need to post a time inside the top 33 in order to secure himself a spot in the season-opener.

The United Rentals 300 is scheduled to take place on Saturday, February 15 at 5:00 PM ET on The CW.
