NASCAR Xfinity Series driver and reigning Atlanta winner A.J. Allmendinger will have to defend his win from the rear of the pack, thanks to inspection issues Saturday afternoon.

Details about the inspection failures were not immediately published. He was slated to roll off in the third position. His teammates Jeb Burton and Justin Haley will roll off second, and 13th respectively.

In addition, David Starr and Chad Finchum will go to the rear for a driver swap.

In 2020, California driver led 37 laps on his way to his first victory of two in his part-time season with Kaulig. He was promoted to full-time in the No. 16 in the offseason for a run at the 2021 Xfinity Series title.

The EchoPark 250 is set to go green just past 5:00 PM EST on FOX Sports 1 and the FOX Sports App.
