Ryan Newman and Roush Fenway Racing seem to be a marketing match made in heaven. In an off-season already chuck-full of sponsorship announcements for the No. 6 team, the group made another announcement on Friday.
Acorns, the micro-investing phone application will be making their first foray into NASCAR as they will be the primary sponsor for Newman’s race car for multiple races in 2019, according to a press release. The first race of the partnership will be in the second race of the year at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
Newman, 41, has had an illustrious career. He has 18-career wins in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series — including the 2008 Daytona 500 and 2013 Brickyard 400. For Newman, this new partnership is all about growth.
“Winning is everything to me, it’s what drives me to become a champion in our sport,” said Newman. “I came from humble beginnings; my father was an auto mechanic who wanted to race but never had the chance to do so. He taught me to invest in myself and never stop growing. I’m excited to represent a company like Acorns that is encouraging all Americans to invest in their future. With the support of like-minded individuals, I hope we can share our successes on and off the race track this season.”
Newman’s humble beginnings, coupled with his successful career led to him being the perfect match for Acorns, who are trying to reach NASCAR fans who are on the fence about investing.
“NASCAR is the ultimate representation of the American dream,” said Noah Kerner, CEO of Acorns. “With the help of Rocketman we hope to reach all Americans who want to race towards a better future.”
