Kurt Busch’s Car Chief Ejected After Two Failed Inspections

If Kurt Busch will go on to win his first race of the 2019 season in Sunday’s GEICO 500 at Talladega Superspeedway, he will have to do so without his car chief Ryan Bergenty. Bergenty was ejected from the track after the No. 1 car failed inspection twice on Saturday.

The car did finally pass inspection on it’s third pass through the OSS (Optical Scanning Station).

Also as a result of Saturday’s inspection issues, the No. 1 team will incur a 15-minute hold in practice next week at Dover International Speedway.

Busch has carried the banner for Chip Ganassi Racing so far in 2019 as he has scored three top-five finishes and six top-10s through the first nine MENCS races of the year. Busch sits seventh in the championship standings heading into Sunday.
