Talladega is a bitterly brutal beast. Anything can — and usually does — happen at the 2.66-mile Speedway in Alabama.

Big melees and tightly wound packs of cars in the draft lead to opportunity for drivers and teams that aren’t always known for battling for victories.

In Saturday’s MoneyLion 300, three drivers inside the top-10 scored their best-ever NASCAR Xfinity Series finishes.

Gray Gaulding (who finished second), Josh Williams (who finished sixth) and Chris Cockrum (who finished 10th) had never even recorded a single top-10 before Saturday’s race.

Now, more people will have a chance to learn their names and stories after impressive showings.
