The long wait is finally over for Stewart Friesen. The Canadian driver grabbed his first-career NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series win in his 63rd-career start Thursday night at Eldora Speedway in the Dirt Derby.

Friesen had finished runner-up six times through his first 62 races, so the pressure had been on to finally reach victory lane. However, Friesen explained before the race that his wife had convinced him to finally just not sweat it and have fun. He did. And the win finally came.

Friesen was in position to win through the first two Stages, but it was ultimately the call to not pit at the conclusion of Stage 2 that handed Friesen the lead and eventually the victory.

Friesen managed his fuel load and won the race.

Sheldon Creed came home in second, while Grant Enfinger, Mike Marlar and Todd Gilliland rounded out the top-five finishers in the race.

Christian Eckes was sixth.

Chase Briscoe, who led every lap in the first two Stages, pitted at the end of Stage 2 and was mired deep in the pack. After being involved in several incidents on his path back to the front, Briscoe finished seventh.

Tyler Dippel, Tyler Ankrum and Matt Crafton finished eighth through 10th.
