WeatherTech is set to expand its presence in the NASCAR National Series ranks next season, between Team Trackhouse drivers Shane Van Gisbergen and Connor Zilisch.

Between Van Gisbergen and Zilisch, who will each drive the No. 88 Chevrolet in their respective series next season, the globally recognized brand with a long history of involvement in motorsports will be prominently featured in 36 NASCAR events.

“When I wanted to spread our WeatherTech racing wings and get involved in NASCAR racing, our research for the best team to partner with came down to Trackhouse because we share the common values of excellence and integrity, along with their ingrained mantra of working hard to succeed and win,” said WeatherTech founder David MacNeil. “At WeatherTech, we couldn’t be happier with how our first year has unfolded and are looking forward to a successful 2025 with Trackhouse.”

Based in Bolingbrook, Illinois, WeatherTech is the leading manufacturer of premium American-made automotive accessories and home and pet care products. The company has a long history in sports car racing, becoming the IMSA title sponsor in 2016, an agreement that has since been extended through 2030.

The company has served as the anchor partner for Van Gisbergen in his rookie NASCAR Xfinity Series campaign this season, while also joining the Auckland, New Zealand native for select events in the NASCAR Cup Series.

“WeatherTech has been in racing a long time and they understand what it takes to succeed in the marketplace as well as on the racetrack,” said Van Gisbergen, 35, who is a native of Auckland, New Zealand. “In fact, I have raced with (David MacNeil’s son) Cooper MacNeil in IMSA. They have been a huge supporter of mine this year and I’m looking forward to taking WeatherTech to the Cup Series in 2025. We both know there will be a huge learning curve, but we’re ready for the challenge.”

After winning his NASCAR Cup Series debut race at the Chicago Street Course last Summer in Trackhouse’s PROJECT91 entry, Van Gisbergen was convinced to move to the United States to pursue a full-time NASCAR career in 2022.

This season, Van Gisbergen joined Kaulig Racing to compete full-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, where he’s won three road course events and qualified for the postseason. The Auckland, New Zealand-native has also run eight NASCAR Cup Series events to date.

Van Gisbergen will graduate full-time to the NASCAR Cup Series in 2025, driving the No. 88 Chevrolet, a third chartered entry for Trackhouse Racing

WeatherTech will also be featured on the No. 88 Chevrolet in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, which next season will be driven by Connor Zilisch and be fielded by JR Motorsports, a championship-winning team in the second-tier series.

Having just turned 18 years old in July, Zilisch has already stormed onto the NASCAR National Series scene and garnered some attention, winning the pole and race in his Xfinity Series debut at Watkins Glen, driving for JR Motorsports.

Zilisch has already garnered an impressive resume in his short career, including wins in the Rolex 24 and 12 Hours of Sebring, as well as wins in the ARCA Menards Series, zMAX Cars Tour, and TransAm TA2 Division. In March, Zilisch captured the pole on his NASCAR Truck Series debut at Circuit of The Americas.

“WeatherTech has been part of racing ever since I started,” said Zilisch who honed his skills on the road courses of Europe and the short tracks of America before joining Trackhouse Racing as a development driver in January. “WeatherTech has played such a significant role in the success of sports car racing in America so I feel honored I can carry their brand to the Xfinity Series. Plus, I love the paint scheme and hope to have it near the front on Saturdays and then watch Shane on Sundays in 2025.”

Both Van Gisbergen and Zilisch will proudly carry on the legacy that is associated with the No. 88 in both the NASCAR Cup Series and the NASCAR Xfinity Series.
