Video: Young Austin Dillon Fan Brought to Tears As Dillon Wins Texas Cup Series Race

NASCAR fans are a passionate bunch. Unlike stick and ball sports where it’s expected that teams win more than half of their games to have a good season, in NASCAR even the top drivers and teams don’t come anywhere close to sniffing a 50-percent win percentage.

Still, fans back their drivers through thick and extremely thing.

On Monday, Richard Childress Racing released video of a young Austin Dillon fan named Alexander Williamson. Williamson’s father had started taking video of his son watching the final laps click off of Sunday’s race where Dillon, who hasn’t won since 2018, was leading.

As Dillon approaches the finish line for his third-career NASCAR Cup Series victory, Williamson gets emotional.

NASCAR fandom is still alive and well, and will be for another generation. That is some awesome stuff and shows just how much true passion there still is out there for NASCAR.
