Video: With 12 Laps to Go, Chase Elliott Makes Incredible Save in the Grass at Daytona

How. Did. Chase. Elliott. Not. Crash?

With 12 laps to go in Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series O’Reilly Auto Parts 253 at the Daytona International Speedway Road Course, Elliott was mired deep in traffic, when 11 cars stayed out on a late weather caution.

Elliott was attempting to make up ground, when room ran out next to Corey LaJoie. A slight tap from the No. 7 car sent Elliott into the grass. The No. 9 NAPA driver slipped, and slid his way through the grass. Ahead were a bunch of sponsor signs in the grass.

Somehow, Elliott didn’t spin. He didn’t tear off his splitter. And he avoided the signs. Incredible save.
