WHAT THE?!

If you thought Friday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series Wawa 250 at Daytona International Speedway was totally bizarre, then you’ll likely need a brand-new word for Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series event.

As the field crossed the start-finish line to start Lap 139, a downpour began in the first corner of the speedway, with 25-plus vehicles barreling towards a wet track at 200mph.

Obviously, that didn’t end well, when the leaders all lost traction in the first corner, triggering an enormous accident, that collected pretty much the entire lead pack, with the exception of a few stragglers.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Aric Almirola both took scary rides in the accident, with the No. 47 Chevrolet Camaro nearly launching into the window of Almirola’s No. 10.

AT LEAST 18 cars were collected in the insane accident, including leaders Denny Hamlin and Daniel Suarez, amongst many, many others.

Somehow, throughout the chaos, Austin Dillon was able to drive his No. 3 American Ethanol Chevrolet Camaro through the carnage, to take the lead.

After the accident, Kevin Harvick, Landon Cassill, Cody Ware, and Austin Cindric are scored in the top five. Kyle Busch, Martin Truex Jr, BJ McLeod, David Ragan, and Noah Gragson the top-10.
