Kyle Larson and Bubba Wallace tangled in the opening laps of the second stage of the South Point 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway after Larson shoved Wallace high and into the outside wall, in which Wallace retaliated on the defending series champion.

It may be pretty hot temperature-wise in Las Vegas, Nevada, but I don’t think anybody is expecting things to get this hot on the track, especially this early in the second stage of Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Las Vegas.

The vicious, multi-car accident involved Kyle Larson, Bubba Wallace, and NASCAR Cup Series Playoff driver Christopher Bell, and started when Larson shoved Wallace into the outside wall at the exit of turn four.

In what looked like an act of retaliation, Wallace’s No. 45 Toyota Camry TRD steered down the track and right-reared Larson’s No. 5 Chevrolet Camaro, sending him spinning toward the outside wall at full speed.

Christopher Bell, the winner of last weekend’s event at Charlotte’s ROVAL and a contender for the NASCAR Cup Series title, was an innocent bystander in all of this, getting hooked as Larson’s vehicle shot back up the track.

Larson, Wallace, and Bell all sustained severe damage to their vehicles, putting them all out of the event, and relegating the drivers to finishes of 34th, 35th, and 36th.

Upon exiting his McDonald’s Toyota Camry, Bubba Wallace was CLEARLY frustrated with Larson, walking away from his car and walking to where Larson’s No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports entry was stopped in the infield.

From there, in an unusual fashion to the NASCAR Cup Series, a shoving match broke out in the infield between Wallace and Larson, which left the two drivers to be separated by members of the safety team.

  1. Wallace should have to sit out the next two races. Give him time to reflect on what a great opportunity he has driving in Nascar.
