Video: Kyle Busch Crashes From Lead, Truex, Hamlin As Well As Rain Makes Track Slick on Lap 6

Holy consequences, folks.

On lap 6 of Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series Foxwoods Resort and Casino 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, things got super wacky.

With weather threatening, the race began on time. But on lap six rain began to pelt the 1.058-mile speedway. As rain made the track slick, Kyle Busch lost control from the lead and pounded the outside wall.

Behind him, his fellow Joe Gibbs Racing teammates Martin Truex Jr. and Denny Hamlin also got sideways and received damage.

Busch and Truex both backed into the wall and seem to have sustained race-altering to potentially race-ending damage to each of their cars, while Hamlin bounced off of Alex Bowman’s No. 48 car and received minimal damage.

Here is the view from Truex’s onboard cam:

Busch was so frustrated by the incident that he began to shove the pace car under the caution for the crash.

Here is Busch’s interview with NBCSN following the crash:

After Busch’s frustrating exit from the race, NASCAR’s Steve O’Donnell stepped into the NBC booth to explain the process of calling a caution when weather hits, and what went wrong on Sunday.
