Video: Joey Logano, AJ Allmendinger, Todd Gilliland All Have Flat Tires At The Same Time

Well… that’s something you don’t see every week.

In a matter of one lap, three NASCAR Cup Series teams suffered significant issues with the right-rear tires in Monday’s FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway.

It started with Todd Gilliland, driving the No. 38 Grillo’s Pickles Ford Mustang Dark Horse, who came to pit road under green-flag conditions with a flat right-rear tire.

A couple of seconds later, two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Joey Logano suffered the same fate on his No. 22 Shell Pennzoil Ford Mustang Dark Horse, with smoke emerging from his Team Penske machine.

Both Gilliland and Logano were able to maintain control of their vehicles and made it back to the pits without causing more issues.

However, AJ Allmendinger, driving the No. 16 LeafFilter Chevrolet Camaro, didn’t have that same luck, with a tire blowing on his Kaulig Racing machine down the frontstretch, sending the NASCAR Cup Series veteran around.

None of the three drivers with issues were forced to retire from the event, while Logano managed to stay on the lead lap. AJ Allmendinger had to be towed back to the pits, though and lost four laps in the process.
