Video: Elliott, Keselowski Wreck Late in Stage 2 at Atlanta

NASCAR’s Most Popular Driver has been caught up in a multi-car accident late in the second stage of Sunday’s Ambetter Health 400 at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

The incident began in the middle of Turns 3 & 4 when contact between Chase Briscoe and Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. sent the No. 47 HYAK Motorsports Chevrolet up the racetrack.

As Stenhouse went up the hill, that forced Chase Elliott — the only Georgia-born driver in the field — to smack the outside wall, breaking the right-rear toe link on his Hendrick Motorsports entry.

Elliott attempted to avoid collecting others in the wreck, dramatically slowing on the frontstretch, but with a toe link broken, there was no way to control the direction of his No. 9 Chevrolet.

Corey LaJoie side-swiped Elliott on the fronstretch, sending his No. 01 Ford Mustang Dark Horse spinning on the fronstretch, while Brad Keselowski, running at the tail-end of the lead draft had nowhere to go.

Both LaJoie and Keselowski went to the NASCAR Cup Series garage, while Elliott and the Hendrick Motorsports team worked hard to repair the damage on pit road.
