Corey LaJoie made headlines this week by announcing a multi-year extension of his driving contract with Spire Motorsports. On Saturday, LaJoie’s race weekend at Michigan International Speedway got off to a rough start.
Around the mid-way point of Group B’s time on the track, LaJoie got loose in the middle of Turns 3 and 4, and he chased his No. 7 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 up the track.
LaJoie was unable to wrangle the car, which slapped the outside wall with the right rear, and then the car went for a full spin.
Here is a video of LaJoie’s practice spin:

Prior to the incident, LaJoie had turned the 17th-fastest lap in the practice session. While the incident reduced the amount of time LaJoie was able to have on track, the No. 7 car suffered very minimal damage.
