Alex Bowman has had a lot of rough luck of late and the trend continued in Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series Ally 400 at Nashville Superspeedway.
On lap 50, Bowman received a tap from behind from Corey LaJoie, which sent his No. 48 car spinning into the outside wall. As Bowman attempted to limp back around to pit road, a shredded tire sheered pieces and parts off of his No. 48 car.
Here is the issue as it happened:
The restart has not been kind to Team Hendrick.
William Byron heads to the garage and Alex Bowman spins and hits the wall hard.

The six minute repair clock would expire and Bowman would be done for the day due to the damaged vehicle policy.
After the crash, Alex Bowman keyed his radio and sarcastically called LaJoie a really good race car driver.
Meanwhile, LaJoie asked his spotter to tell the No. 48 team that he was sorry and that the contact was not intentional.
