Jeremy Bullins has officially stepped down from his role as the crew chief of the No. 21 Wood Brothers Racing Ford Mustang Dark Horse in the NASCAR Cup Series with just three races remaining in the 2024 season. According to the NASCAR Roster Portal, Grant Hutchens, the lead engineer of the team, will take over as the crew chief for Harrison Burton and Wood Brothers Racing this weekend in the Straight Talk Wireless 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Team Penske, who the Wood Brothers have a technical alliance with, confirmed the departure of Bullins, who is seeking other opportunities in the sport, and offered a statement wishing the crew chief well.

“We respect his decision and wish him the best,” the statement from the team read.

Bullins has recorded 10 wins as a crew chief in the NASCAR Cup Series, including a win in the Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona International Speedway which secured a Playoff berth for Burton and the No. 21 team earlier this year, over a career spanning 332 starts.

The veteran crew chief has snagged wins with four different drivers over the course of his Cup Series career. Drivers who have won with Bullins atop the pit box include Burton, Austin Cindric, Brad Keselowski, and Ryan Blaney.

Bullins is also a 21-time race winner in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

While Hutchens will take over as interim crew chief for the No. 21 Wood Brothers Racing team, no decision has been formally announced as to who the crew chief will be for the organization in 2025 as the team welcomes Josh Berry as its new driver.
