Ryan Blaney will be a part of the Team Penske organization for years to come as the driver and race team announced a long-term contract extension on Wednesday. While the announcement didn’t come out and give the exact length of the deal, the release states that Blaney’s future with the team is secured, “well into the future.”

Blaney, 28, currently sits second in the NASCAR Cup Series point standings and despite not securing a points-paying win yet this year, Blaney did win the All-Star race earlier in the season and he has amassed seven NCS wins in his first seven full-time seasons in the series.

Needless to say, Team Penske felt the need to have Blaney stick with the team long-term.

“Ryan has become one of the top competitors in the NASCAR Cup Series and we are excited for him to continue his career and build on his success with Team Penske,” said Team Penske team owner Roger Penske in a release. “He has been a key part of our team for more than a decade and we have seen him grow and develop, both on and off the track. He has become a consistent winner behind the wheel of the No. 12 Ford, and he also does a great job representing our team partners. We look forward to what the future holds with Ryan and Team Penske.”

For Blaney, he’s happy to continue calling the Team Penske race shop home for years to come.

“Team Penske has been family to me for 10 years, so I’m incredibly excited to continue with this family for the future,” said Blaney. “Roger Penske is a legend in our sport, and I’ve always said getting to drive for him is something everyone dreams of doing. On top of that, we’ve got a great group of partners with Menards, Advance Auto Parts, BODYARMOR, Wurth, Discount Tire, Dent Wizard, Wabash and Ford that have shown a lot of faith in me. I look forward to continuing to win for Team Penske, Roger and all of our partners, as we work towards our goal of winning a Cup Series championship.”

Overall, the North Carolina-native has made 258 starts in NASCAR Cup Series competition and he has scored seven wins, 57 top-five finishes and 108 top-10s. Blaney also has nine poles, including three this season alone.

Blaney has also scored 11 victories between the NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series over the course of his career, as well.
