On Friday, Chevrolet officially unveiled its body style for the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series campaign, and it’s… a Chevrolet Camaro ZL1?
Yes, you’ve read that correctly. Team Chevy will roll into Winston-Salem, North Carolina, in early February with an updated look for its Camaro racecar for the 2026 Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium.
The latest edition of the Camaro ZL1 will feature upgraded styling that remains aligned with the newly released Carbon Performance Package for the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 — which allows owners to optimize the performance capabilities of the sixth-generation Camaro ZL1 production car.
Chevrolet unveiled the final product after working closely with both NASCAR and its manufacturer-backed teams on the update. The following full-time organizations will be running the new-style Chevrolet body: Trackhouse Racing, Richard Childress Racing, Hendrick Motorsports, Spire Motorsports, Kaulig Racing, Haas Factory Team, and HYAK Motorsports.

The most prominent changes to the body style for the upcoming season include a larger hood power dome, a revised front grille, and a more pronounced rocker panel along the sides of the car. All of these changes mirror the new Carbon Performance Package’s carbon-fiber hood insert and rockers, as well as the ZL1 1LE-spec front grille and splitter.
Chevrolet has competed with 14 different nameplates in the NASCAR Cup Series since joining the series in 1955. In that time, the automaker has collected 881 victories, 34 Drivers’ Championships, and 44 Manufacturer’s Championships (including the last five in a row).
The manufacturer went to Victory Lane a total of 15 times during the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series campaign, with drivers William Byron, Kyle Larson, Ross Chastain, Shane Van Gisbergen, Chase Elliott, and Austin Dillon. Of the 16 drivers that made the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs, seven of them were competing under the Chevrolet banner.
NASCAR’s 2026 campaign will begin with an exhibition event at Bowman-Gray Stadium on February 1, which will mark the first display of the brand-new Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 on the racetrack.
The points-paying season will begin two weeks later with the 2026 DAYTONA 500, taking place on Sunday, February 15, on FOX.
