It’s going to take a lot more from Carson Hocevar to put out the fire that he started in Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series Viva Mexico 250 at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez. A couple of weeks after crashing Ricky Stenhouse Jr. at Nashville Superspeedway, which sparked a feud between the two drivers, Hocevar again got into Stenhouse on track.

Late in the race, Hocevar, who was a lap down, locked up his brakes entering the stadium portion of the 2.42-mile road course and collided with the rear of Stenhouse’s No. 47 HYAK Motorsports Chevrolet. This sent Stenhouse spinning out.

After finishing 27th in Sunday’s race, Stenhouse sought out Hocevar’s No. 77 Spire Motorsports Chevrolet on pit road. He found Hocevar’s car, poked his head through the window, and gave his rival a verbal lashing, weaving in a threat for good measure.

“I’m gonna beat your ass,” Stenhouse is heard telling Hocevar via the microphone on Hocevar’s in-car camera after the race. “You’re a lap down, you’ve got nothing to do, why’d you run right into me for the second time?!”

Hocevar admitted his mistake to Stenhouse and said, “I know, I f—ed up.”

But Stenhouse, who allowed an apologetic phone call from Hocevar following their Nashville run-in to calm him, wasn’t having any of it after Sunday’s race.

“I don’t give a damn. I will beat your ass,” Stenhouse shouted. “I will when we get back to the states.”

Following Sunday’s race in Mexico City, Stenhouse, who was 13th in the championship standings heading into Nashville Superspeedway, now sits 21st, and he ranks one point behind Hocevar.

The NASCAR Cup Series heads to Pocono Raceway on Sunday, June 22. Will Stenhouse confront Hocevar at Pocono Raceway? Or will the two find each other at home in North Carolina before heading to Pennsylvania?

  1. Ricky Steinhouse can’t drive a lawn mower. He seems to forget about all and I mean a lot, of wrecks that he has caused during the years. He needs a crying towel and sit with Kyle Bush so the both can cry with each other.

  2. Can’t wait to se what happens between these two. Carson has been a thorn in more than one drivers side. He needs to be taken behind the wood shed. Don’t know if it will be “Wrecky Spinhouse”. But somebody is going to do it sooner or later. Just hope they don’t wreck some fine machinery in doing it. Do it after a race on pit road after getting out of their cars. Can’t wait to see it. We are over due for a good scrap.
